As part of our new suite of qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), St Andrews Management Centre (STAMC), will now be delivering the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Project Management. This will be the first dedicated Project Management qualification that St Andrews Management Centre has run and STAMC Director Jeff Lockhart is keen to get started:
“Previously, STAMC has offered our learners project management training through either unaccredited specialised short courses or through project management units that made up part of a broader management and leadership qualification. The Level 5 Certificate in Project Management will combine the best of both worlds, offering our learners an in-depth, practical look at project management, whilst gaining a qualification from the internationally recognised CMI. Our decision to begin offering this qualification comes at a time when employers demand for solid project management skills is far outstripping supply. We firmly believe that undertaking this qualification will provide our learners with a much sought-after skill set.”
This qualification is ideal for learner’s who are practising or aspiring managers and leaders and who typically answer to senior management or business owners. Aimed primarily at those overseeing and managing projects, the qualification will also be of interest to those who are wanting to expand upon their general management skills.
The CMI Level 5 Project Management qualification consists of two units:
- Managing Projects to Achieve Results
- Conducting a Management Research Project
Each unit will be taught over five non-consecutive face-to-face teaching days over 4/5 months to minimise disruptions to working schedules. Learners will complete two assignments, one for each unit.
