Our Story

St Andrews Management Centre delivers training in Leadership & Management, Learning & Development units, Management of Change, Project Management, International Trade & Customs Compliance, Finance & Budgeting and Customer Service Skills.

Founded in 2013 by Jeff Lockhart and Rick Bond, St Andrews Management Centre is a training provider that will adapt and flex to the needs of different workplaces, employees and industries. With backgrounds in finance and further education, both Jeff and Rick firmly believe that training needs to work for the individual learner as much as the business and this principle is carried right through the learning process.

Our belief in the flexibility of training means that at STAMC we offer certificated courses from the ILM (part of the City & Guilds of London), and the SQA; short courses and bespoke, tailored exercises. All training is delivered by experienced trainers who have worked in senior management roles across a variety of industries.

Our People

Jeff Lockhart


Jeff is a Director and co-founder of St Andrews Management Centre. Jeff worked for many years in Finance before developing extensive experience in the Training & Development sector.
Jeff is experienced in the design and delivery of learning packages covering all areas of financial skills and management development, to clients across UK, Europe, Russia, North America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Training Specialities: Finance & Budgeting; Export Compliance and Control; Project Management; Leadership Skills; Team Development; Business Process Improvement.

Rick Bond


Rick is a Director and co-founder of St Andrews Management Centre. Rick has over 30 years experience of teaching, training and managing within the Further and Higher education environment.
Rick has extensive experience of working on European and International training development projects including in Central Europe, Russia and in more recent years China & India.

Training Specialities: Leadership and Management development; customer service training; SQA assessor/verifier training; bespoke course development; quality assurance; international training development; Development of SVQ & VRQ ILM qualifications.

Karen Dawson

Business Executive

Karen joined St Andrews Management Centre in October 2014. Karen brought to the team many years experience in the coordination and delivery of training programmes in Further and Higher education.

In her role with STAMC Karen oversees the administration of the accredited courses, ensuring compliance with the awarding bodies standards. She is a key contact for our learners, guiding them through course admin, from registration right through to final submissions.

Kate Fergusson

Project Executive

Kate joined STAMC in September 2014. Kate brought to the team experience of working within the Creative industries; experience which she now feeds into her work on various projects for STAMC including marketing activity and longer-term project development.

Joe Logue

Training Associate

Joe has considerable experience of the training and the delivery of lifelong learning throughout his career working in the armed forces, further & higher education and local government. Joe is adept at identifying training needs, the delivery of training, and the assessment & monitoring of progress.

Training Specialities: Work based assessment; delivery of SVQ qualifications; delivery and assessment of ILM and CMI management programmes up to level 9; delivery of literacy and numeracy up to level 3; teaching English as a foreign language on a one-to-one basis.

Rab Lindsay

Associate Director

Rab joined STAMC in May 2019 following a long career with Fife Council, latterly as Customer Experience Manager.
He gained his MBA in 2007 and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), with over 20 years’ experience working and managing in both Training and Organisation Development roles.

Rab assists with the delivery of the ILM Accredited Programs, as well as a range of non-accredited programs in the management and leadership suite of courses.

Kirstie Brereton

Commercial Executive

Kirstie joined St Andrews Management Centre in December 2019. She graduated with a BA in Business Studies in 2017 and brings the customer service and commercial experience of working in a range of retail operations.

Kirstie supports the International Trade services, as well as working with the commercial proposals and tendering processes.

Tom Bishop

Training Associate

Tom is a skilled consultant, facilitator and coach with wide ranging experience working with individuals and groups gained in the private, voluntary and public sectors. Self-motivated, inter personally skilled and able to tailor projects to meet the client’s specific needs in ways that align to their organisation’s culture.

Training Specialities: An ILM Tutor, Tom designs and delivers ILM Accredited Programmes with experience of delivering; Executive Coaching & Facilitation, Management Training & Development, Team Development and Recruitment & Retention.
A specialist in Soft skills and feedback skills Tom is trained and experienced in Hogan and other Psychometrics instruments for Executive recruitment and development.
