In 2021, St Andrews Management Centre established the “Developing Futures” program …
Our aim is to offer some support to young people who have shown an aptitude in sports and who might benefit from a little assistance towards the costs of their activities.
STAMC Directors Rick and Jeff are both keen sportsmen – although now in a far more sedentary role compared to their younger years! Jeff competed at County and National Schools level in athletics and represented his country in an International Club event at Under 18 level. Rick was a keen rugby player in his school days, and remains a keen follower of the sport at local and national level.
“Rick and I are firm believers in developing talent – either in the classroom or on the playing field. The Developing Futures program is all about us being able to give our young folk a ‘helping hand’.”
Whilst the scheme is still in its early stages, we have already been able to give a little assistance to two young people pursue their sporting dream.
Harris Pentecost is a member of Falkirk Victoria Harriers, and who is building upon his successes at Under 18 level as heads for the very top of Scottish Athletics.
Rocco Webb, aged 11, is on his journey to becoming a Speedway GB Rider!
Rocco will be attending academy sessions at Edinburgh Monarchs Speedway in Armadale at the weekends, putting in the practice at second-half rides and also looking to gain experience at other tracks.
Please note that there are limited funds available to the Program each year and we cannot guarantee to support every application we receive.
