Adapting to change … support for international trade

Supporting organisations with process change

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road – unless you fail to make the turn.”

Helen Keller (1880-1968)

The departure of the UK from the European Community (EC) and the end of the Transition Period means that many business have become exporters and importers for the first-time.

Revenues & Customs – changes to controls and procedures

When the UK were members of the EC, goods bought and sold with businesses from other member countries were treated as “arrivals” and “dispatches”, and exempt from duty charges.

Now, all goods arriving into or leaving the UK will be be subject to the controls applied by Revenues and Customs authorities of the receiving country.

These changes bring with them different ways of working and, potentially increased costs and more pressure on cash flows. We work with organisations to support them through these processes and help them take advantages of the Government schemes which exist to help traders minimise their duty burden and ensure that the customs processes are fully compliant.

Amongst all the complexity, it’s important to remember that you don’t need to go through this on your own.

Our TradeNet International support service can provide you with experienced and expert help when you need it.
