We are an ILM approved centre, delivering VRQs in Leadership & Management …

The ILM is one of the UK’s largest management bodies.  It is part of the City and Guilds of London Institute.

Committed to the improvement of professional standards in Leadership and Management, ILM qualifications are based on the National Occupational Standards, ensuring that they benefit from the most up to date research and accurately reflect the changing face of the workplace.

As an approved centre of the ILM since 2014, St Andrews Management Centre delivers the following qualifications:

These qualifications are tutor-taught, either virtually or face-to-face, with learners assessed through work-based assignments.  The flexible composition of each qualification allows STAMC to work within the ILM framework to design a course of study perfectly suited to the needs of each learner and the overall business.

Which Qualification is right for me?

These qualifications are referred to as Vocationally Relevant Qualifications (VRQs).  All assignments are based on work-based tasks and projects so that learning is taken out of the classroom and practically imbedded directly into the learner’s role.

To achieve a qualification, a participant must successfully complete units of learning.  The number of units varies depending on the level of the qualification undertaken.  These units span a wide range of topics including personal leadership development, managing teams, project management, performance management and change management.  Units can be selected to focus the qualification onto specific areas of interest or relevance.

I gained a great knowledge of management theories and techniques, Information regarding leading, coaching and managing others. I learned a lot about myself, and how to identify development need in myself and others. I found the lectures and workshops very enjoyable and interesting. I felt comfortable to ask questions and join in on discussions. It was a very pleasant experience and I learned a great deal.

I found the lecturers very approachable, supportive and helpful.  I enjoyed every workshop. The interaction with the class helped to see the bigger picture. Hearing the thoughts and opinions from the other students gave me a better understand of different management/learning styles etc and how they are used within the council.

Due to COVID-19 the whole course was delivered through Microsoft Teams. I found St Andrews Management Centre constantly made improvements throughout the course. I found the breakout rooms a very good addition
