Founded in 2013 by Jeff Lockhart and Rick Bond, St Andrews Management Centre is a training provider that will adapt and flex to the needs of different workplaces, employees and industries. With backgrounds in finance and further education, both Jeff and Rick firmly believe that training needs to work for the individual learner as much as the business and this principle is carried right through the learning process.

Our belief in the flexibility of training means that at STAMC we offer certificated courses from the ILM (part of the City & Guilds of London), and the SQA; short courses and bespoke, tailored exercises. All training is delivered by experienced trainers who have worked in senior management roles across a variety of industries.

TESTIMONIALS

Pure DeaI gained a great knowledge of management theories and techniques, Information regarding leading, coaching and managing others. I learned a lot about myself, and how to identify development need in myself and others. I found the lectures and workshops very enjoyable and interesting. I felt comfortable to ask questions and join in on discussions. It was a very pleasant experience and I learned a great deal.d Brilliant, so they are.

Ruth Thomson, Housing Options Officer

Whilst I have been a Headteacher for 18 years and have many, many difficult conversations I still felt this course was of use to me. It acted as a bit of time for me to reflect and remind myself of how best to plan, respond and prepare for challenges. Thank you. I enjoyed working with the wider group as the wide variety of roles we all had was helpful.

Gillian Mann, Headteacher

Many thanks for taking the time to diver the three sessions of ‘Having Difficult Conversations’. I enjoyed the sessions very much. The mix of content was relevant, engaging, practical.

The regular reference to How We Work Matters was a timely reminder as I do not feel we make best use of this in Education. I have made a note to remind all staff of this at our next in-service training day.

A very worthwhile, engaging course that I am sure will impact in the workplace for me and many others.

Gillian Mann, Headteacher

I found the lectures very approachable, supportive and helpful. I enjoyed every workshop. The interaction with the class helped to see the bigger picture. Hearing the thoughts and opinions from the other students gave me a better understand of different management/learning styles etc and how they are used within the council.

Due to COVID-19 the whole course was delivered through Microsoft Teams. I found St Andrews Management Centre constantly made improvements throughout the course. I found the breakout rooms a very good addition
