About CMI

The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is dedicated to improving the quality of management in the UK, striving for better managed, thriving organisations. The CMI aims to improve the professionalism of practicing managers, moving away from the “accidental” manager, offering research and practice led qualifications and training to raise standards across the profession.

The CMI is the only Chartered body in the UK that awards Management and Leadership qualifications. In addition to these qualifications the CMI also awards Chartered Manager, the ultimate recognition of the professional manager.

These research-led qualifications provide learners with learning that is forward-looking and focuses on the practical application of their knowledge.

As a CMI centre, STAMC, now offers the following CMI qualifications and learning opportunities:

Leadership Bootcamp

STAMC’s Leadership Bootcamp course has been recognised by the CMI. CMI Recognised courses are mapped and aligned against the CMI’s Professional Standards in Management & Leadership.

Courses which achieve recognised status have successfully demonstrated contents which meet the internationally recognised benchmarks as set out by the CMI. It should be noted that this course is not a certified CMI qualification though delegates will receive an STAMC issued and CMI badged certificate of learning upon completion.

The Leadership Bootcamp programme focusses on exploring and mastering the key skills and knowledge that will take an individual’s leadership skills to the next level.

Participants will gain valuable insight into what drives individual behaviour, how to pinpoint the cultural style of their organisation, and understand its inherent cultural strengths and weaknesses. They will explore team dynamics in the context of the culture, look at functional and dysfunctional behaviour and how dysfunctional behaviour can be reshaped.

In these sessions, participants will learn how easy it is for the leader to unwittingly set people up for failure and how this can be avoided. They will investigate motivation, reward, and identify strategies to get the best from the team.

Leadership Bootcamp is comprised of five units:

  • Managing Yourself and Your Productivity
  • Establishing the Difference between Management & Leadership
  • Team Dynamics
  • Vision, Direction and Alignment
  • Managing People and Change

This programme can be delivered either online or “face-to-face”. The online programme is delivered in 5×4 hour sessions with supplementary and supporting materials being available from an online LMS. Face-to-Face delivery typically consists of 3 full days teaching, but this is dependent upon the client’s needs and the participants availability.
