Welcome to Our New ILM Candidates

Welcome to Our New ILM Candidates

On the 28th of August we were delighted to welcome to the training room the latest group of learners to begin their ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management. Amongst them were several familiar faces; candidates who had previously undertaken ILM qualifications with us and have returned to continue onto the Level 5 qualification. It was a pleasure to welcome these candidates back to the training room, and to meet new learners who are undertaking an ILM qualification for the first time.

“To innovate is to break away from established patterns”. This is one of the challenges that our eleven new candidates sunk their teeth into as they kicked off their first unit, Leading Innovation and Change. Taught by STAMC Director Rick Bond, this unit requires candidates to explore the nature of innovation and change, delving into questions such as “is change creative or rational problem solving?”. Candidates will consider what innovation and change would look like within their own role in the context of their organisation. The work-based nature of the unit assignment will encourage candidates to consider the practical application of the theory to their role. Over the next six months, in addition to this unit, candidates will complete four further units. These will include:

  • Making a Financial Case
  • Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring within an Organisational Context
  • Improving Own Leadership Performance Through Action Learning
  • Managing Own Continuing Professional Development

Our next ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management course will be commencing on 30th October 2023. There are still a couple of places available. Interested? Get in touch with Karen to sign up at karen.dawson@stamc.co.uk
